Spring Update 2024

Greetings fellow filmmakers! I’m starting a regular blog on my website to fill you in on what I’ve been up to lately and what I’m looking forward to. Spring is always an excting time of year. The warm ish weather here in the DMV brings renewed vigor and a fresh outlook on life and work. In this post I’ll fill you in on some projects I’ve had the privelege to work on, and show you some new innovations as well as what’s ahead. Lets go!

What I’ve Been Working On

My first project of the year started with a commercial for Greenburg and Bederman Law Firm produced by the wonderful Joo Kno media. It was a fantastic shoot with a great team that included one-on-one testimonials and line reads to camera in the heart of DC.

Three camera shoots present unique challenges, but with my fully wireless setup, miking up people and having multiple booms is a breeze.

Later in February, I got to spend three beautiful days out in Western Maryland with the Aliceanna Collective filming a promo for Maryland Tourism. This project was so much fun. I got to see parts of western Maryland I’d never seen before and got to spend it with some of my favorite crew here in Maryland. We saw some beautiful vistas, cozy lodges, and even got to shoot next to a warm fire. We hit the slopes filming some action sequences that will surely bring folks out to the mighty Appalachians.

But lets not forget about scripted work too! In early March I got the unique opportunity to work with DMV comic and all around good dude Joe Marshall on his newest series, “GoFundJoe.” In this short skit Joe encounters Deaconess Ray while selling hot chocolate outside her church where hilarity ensues. This skit premiered on March 23rd in DC and was a hit. During this shoot I got to work with Samson Binutu of Cruefilms and was such a great experience working with such a talented DP.

The Award Goes to…

March of course is Oscar season when we saw awards going out to the best filmmakers of the year. I was happy to see that a director I’ve worked with in the past year won the Oscar for Best Short Documentary and can’t wait to see him again in DC.

Looking Ahead

So as you can see, Broholm Audio has been busy with a wide variety of projects. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some unique places as well as some familiar places and as always, got to work with some of the most talented and cool people in the area. Looking ahead I’m patiently waiting for the warmer parts of spring and summer where we can fully take advantage of filmmaking in Maryland.
